Sólás na Mara is a short and scenic 12km drive from the centre of Dungarvan, County Waterford, in Ireland’s Ancient East. We are within easy reach of Waterford’s treasures, as well as its Greenway, the Copper Coast Drive, and the Munster Vales.
By Public Transport
The 361 bus from Dungarvan runs regularly, and takes 32 minutes, with a short walk of less than a mile to the pier from the bus stop. Connecting buses are available from Waterford to Dungarvan (Route 600), and Waterford’s train station operates services to Dublin, Kilkenny, and other locations across Ireland’s rail network.

By Car
- From Dublin: Take the M9 south to Waterford, then join the N25 west towards Dungarvan. After passing Dungarvan, take the R674 exit for An Rinn. Follow this road for about 7 km and continue to Cé Helvic (clearly signposted). Free parking is available at Cé Helvic.
- From Cork: Take the N25 east toward Dungarvan. Shortly before you reach Dungarvan, take the R674 exit for An Rinn. Continue along this road to Cé Helvic — you’ll find us right on the pier.
- From Dungarvan: Head towards Cork, taking the N25 heading east. After approximately 5 km, take the R674 exit for An Rinn. Follow the R674 for about 7 km until you reach Cé Helvic. Sólás na Mara is located right on the pier, with free parking available.
- From Waterford: Follow the N25 west towards Dungarvan. Beyond Dungarvan, take the R674 exit for An Rinn. Continue on this scenic coastal road for approximately 7 km, following signs for Cé Helvic. You’ll find us at the pier in Cé Helvic.
- From the Greenway: Exit the Waterford Greenway at Dungarvan and follow local signage to join the N25 eastbound toward Cork. Take the R674 exit for An Rinn and continue for approximately 7 km to reach Cé Helvic. Alternatively, you can cycle from Dungarvan to An Rinn. While parts of the route lack a hard shoulder, it follows an 80 km/h road where drivers are generally accustomed to encountering cyclists.
