Bhí áthas ullmhór orainn – we were so delighted when we got word in summer this year that we would receive financial support and funding to add new experiences to our wellness centre from the amazing South East FLAG group. This group is properly titled the Fisheries Local Action Group, and is made up of a group of volunteers, supported by the great staff in BIM or Bord Iascaigh Mhara. The groups aims are to manage and administer European funds they have managed to acquire on all of our behalfs for the betterment of our coastal areas here in Ireland.
We are so fortunate to be situated right on the sea here – the fishing harbour in fact on Helvick Head, and in an old fishermens co-operative building, where they came together and traded in the 1980’s and 1990’s.
When markets changed, the building lay idle, we invested in it and developed our Wellness Centre, featuring the traditional Hot Seawater & Seaweed Baths, and now, with the support of this group, we have invested in a brand new Deluxe twin suite, as well as a Relaxation suite.
Both are proving very popular, and we have been able to introduce some new experiences for those visiting the area, or locals looking to treat someone, or enjoy time out for themselves.
We now have our 1 hour and 2 hour experiences, because of this, and so we can only sit here and say Go Raibh Míle Míle Maigh agaibh FLAG agus BIM.
This will have made a huge difference to our business, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
